Creepy and Haunting - You have to see this Play!!

Well what can I say - I seem to have had a fair run of odd ball characters and when this play was being cast I fully expected that I would, if I was lucky enough to get a part, be cast once again as the crazy lady!

But to my surprise and I must say a little disappointment I was actually asked to play a character who all in all is quite normal. I say initial disappointment as I always gear myself up for the odd ball parts should I be cast at all, however now that we are well into rehearsals I can see the Director has cast the play very well indeed. Both Anna and Peta play their parts so convincingly that it makes my interpretation of my character easy. Of course working with the very experienced and talented Peta, (she directed me in Steel Magnolias, Brassed Off and Calendar Girls) is a pleasure but quite scary as she does "bonkers" very well indeed!
I've also acted alongside Anna in Blood Brothers, also directed by Dave Livingstone, and she is a very talented young actress who again makes this play all the more interesting and fun to be in.

Now enough back slapping - what about Snake in the Grass - well you've no doubt read the right up so I won't go into great detail, but I will say it has a nervous energy that takes you along one dark road onto another that keeps you on the edge of your seats to the end. This is not for the faint hearted. Blackmail, Murder, Haunting what more could you want!!

For my part, I didn't realise how many lines there were to learn and it has been a real test of the old grey matter. Being directed by Dave, not for the first time, I had forgotten how professional he is and how he likes to get even the smallest detail right. Hence the constant scribbling we can hear as we practise on stage - Dave in the stalls penning his directions to make sure he doesn't miss anything - but hey only one thing wrong with that. He does have a habit of forgetting his pen and oh dear there's not a pen to be found in the theatre ( has someone hid them?) Lucky for us he doesn't know we are omitting to say that one of us may be able to help with a spare!
Dave Livingstone showing how it should be done!!

No seriously though - Snake in the Grass is well worth coming to see, so don't miss it, murder, blackmail and intrigue! A ~GREAT NIGHT OUT!!
